How Big Is the Binance APP? The One-Line Answer
The Binance official App installer is about 230 MB on iOS and occupies about 380 MB after install. The main Android APK is about 180 MB, or about 310 MB after install. The Android Lite APK is only 45 MB, or about 80 MB after install. If your phone is tight on space, we recommend the Lite version or just use the web. When you're ready to download, grab the official installer from the Binance Official App. Detailed iOS steps are in the iOS Install Guide, and if you'd rather not install an App at all, the Binance Official Site lets you trade just the same.

Native iPad
The iPad version shares a single App with the iPhone version -- there's no separate bundle. Installed on iPad, the size is the same as on iPhone -- about 380 MB -- and the UI adapts automatically to the iPad landscape layout.
Why Is the iOS Version 50 MB Bigger Than Android?
Android APKs use DEX bytecode + runtime compilation (ART), plus Google's App Bundle split mechanism that only downloads the resources matching the current device. The iOS version uses the unified IPA format containing all resolution resources -- everything from the small iPhone 6s screen to the large iPad Pro screen is packed into one bundle, which naturally makes it bigger.
On top of that, the iOS version has built-in Apple Pay integration, Face ID SDK, and several iOS-exclusive push components, making the final bundle about 50 MB larger than Android.
Feature Comparison Across Versions
| Version | File Size | Futures | P2P | Earn | Launchpad | Face ID/Fingerprint | Push |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| iOS main | 231 MB | Yes, all | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Android main | 178 MB | Yes, all | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Android Lite | 45 MB | USDT-margined only | Yes | Basic Earn | No | Yes | Yes |
| PC Desktop | 142 MB | Yes, all | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
| Mobile browser | 0 MB | Basic orders | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
The Lite version mainly cuts out Launchpad/Launchpool, spot margin, and options and strategy trading, but it keeps core features like spot, futures, deposits/withdrawals, and Earn.
How Much Space Should I Reserve Before Installing?
iOS
Installer 231 MB + install-time decompression space around 500 MB + day-to-day cache 200 MB ~= reserve 1 GB
If your iPhone is nearly out of space, iOS's "Offload App" feature can uninstall the App while keeping document data, and a reinstall later restores the logged-in state.
Android
APK 180 MB + system decompression cache 500 MB + App data cache 500 MB ~= reserve 1.2 GB
If space is really tight, install the Lite version first -- it takes only a quarter of the main build.
Put the Storage Into Perspective
- A 4K photo from an iPhone 15 Pro is about 5 MB
- One Apple Music lossless track is about 30 MB
- A 30-minute 1080p episode is about 350 MB
- The main Binance App = about 76 4K photos
How to Reduce the Footprint After Install
Clear Cache Periodically
In-App path: "More" (bottom-right) -> "Settings" -> "Clear Cache." After clearing, the App's data footprint drops to about 200 MB -- the equivalent of freeing up one whole App.
Turn Off Unused K-line History
Account Settings -> "Markets" -> "K-line history cache." Turning it off saves about 80 MB. When on, this setting pre-downloads a year's worth of K-lines for every spot pair.
Turn Off Video Preloading
Top-right settings on the "Academy" home -> Auto-preload videos. Turning this off saves about 60 MB.
Use Android's Multi-Account Switching
The Android main build supports switching between 5 sub-accounts, and each sub-account separately caches about 50 MB. If you only use one, go to "Account Switch" and delete the extras -- that reclaims 200 MB instantly.
FAQ
Q1: Can Lite and the main build be installed at the same time?
No. On Google Play, Lite and the main build use com.binance.dev.lite vs com.binance.dev, but the APK download for Lite also uses the com.binance.dev package name, so it overwrites the main install. To run both at once, you need Android's "Parallel Space" or "Dual Apps" feature.
Q2: What if my old phone can't hold the main build?
Go with Android Lite (45 MB). If even Lite won't fit, use your phone's built-in browser to visit m.binance.com -- zero storage needed.
Q3: Does the iOS App size keep growing with each version?
Yes. In 2020, v2.0's installer was only 120 MB, and by 2026 v2.85.0 it's 231 MB -- nearly doubled in 6 years. That's mostly from adding the Web3 wallet, Alpha, NFT browser, and similar modules.
Q4: Why does it balloon to 500 MB a few days after install?
Mainly from K-line cache, push notification history, and support chat logs piling up. Clearing the cache periodically brings it back to around 380 MB.
Q5: Is the Binance App the same size across different country App Stores?
Almost identical. All country App Stores share the same codebase for the Binance App, with only compliance-related copy and disabled features differing. The size difference is under 5 MB -- negligible.
