USDT (Tether) is the most commonly used stablecoin and the quote currency for the most trading pairs on Binance. There are two main ways to deposit USDT into Binance: buying via C2C or transferring from another platform. Each has its advantages and disadvantages — detailed instructions and notes are below. Method 1: Buy USDT Directly via C2C
This is the simplest method — purchase with local currency without needing to hold crypto on another platform:
- Open the Binance APP and go to the C2C buy page
- Select USDT as the currency and choose "Buy"
- Enter the amount you want to purchase (in local currency)
- Choose your payment method (bank card / Alipay / WeChat)
- Select a merchant from the list — prioritize merchants with high transaction volumes and good ratings
- After confirming the order, complete payment according to the merchant's payment details shown on the page
- After payment, tap the "I've Paid" button
- Once the merchant confirms receipt, USDT is automatically credited to your C2C wallet
C2C Purchase Notes:
- Always use a bank card or Alipay account that's registered under your own verified name — don't use someone else's account
- After paying, you must tap "I've Paid" — otherwise the order may time out and cancel
- If the merchant doesn't release coins for a long time, you can file a dispute and Binance customer support will intervene
- For your first purchase, start with a small amount (e.g., $15-70) to learn the process before increasing amounts
- USDT purchased via C2C goes to your "Funding Account" — to trade, you'll need to transfer it to your "Spot Account"
Method 2: Transfer USDT from Another Platform
If you have USDT on another exchange or wallet, you can send it to Binance:
Get Your Deposit Address
- In the Binance APP, go to [Wallet] -> [Deposit]
- Search for and select "USDT"
- Select the transfer network (critical step — determines fees and speed)
- Copy the displayed deposit address (use the copy button, don't type manually)

Send USDT

What to Do After Deposit Arrives
USDT transferred from other platforms goes directly to your spot wallet and can be used for trading immediately. USDT purchased via C2C defaults to the funding account — you need to transfer it from "Funding Account" to "Spot Account" via the "Wallet" -> "Transfer" page before trading. This internal transfer is instant and free.
Important Notes
- Networks Must Match: Sender and receiver must select the same network — mismatches can result in lost funds
- TRC-20 Recommended: For the best combination of fees and compatibility, TRC-20 is the optimal choice in most cases
- Verify the Address: After pasting, carefully check the first and last few characters
- Minimum Deposit Amounts: Different networks have different minimums — deposits below the minimum won't be credited
- Test with a Small Amount First: For your first time, transfer a small amount of USDT to test
- Be Patient: Blockchain transfers require network confirmations — don't panic and repeat operations if funds don't arrive immediately
