Adding Widgets on Android

  1. Long-press on an empty area of your home screen
  2. Select "Widgets"
  3. Find "Binance" in the list (use the search function if the list is long)
  4. Choose your preferred widget style
  5. Drag it to your desired position on the home screen
  6. Tap the widget to configure which tokens to display

The process is similar across Android brands, though the menu name may vary. Xiaomi calls it "Widgets," Huawei calls it "Widgets," Samsung calls it "Widgets." If you don't see the widget option after long-pressing, try long-pressing the Binance app icon in your app drawer — some phones show widget options there.

Android widgets are typically resizable. After adding, long-press the widget edge to drag and resize it to your preference.

Adding Widgets on iOS

  1. Long-press an empty area of your home screen (icons start jiggling)
  2. Tap the "+" in the upper-left corner
  3. Search for "Binance"
  4. Choose the widget size (small, medium, large)
  5. Tap "Add Widget"
  6. Drag it to your preferred position and tap "Done"

iOS widgets can also be added to "Today View." Swipe right from the home screen, scroll to the bottom, tap "Edit," and add the Binance widget there. This way, you can check prices with a quick left swipe without even unlocking your phone.

iOS 16+ also supports lock screen widgets, though whether Binance offers lock screen widgets depends on the app version.

Widget Types

Binance typically offers these widget types:

Price card: Shows real-time price and 24-hour change for one or more tokens. The most commonly used widget — gives you an instant view of your watched tokens' current prices. Small cards typically show 1–2 tokens; medium cards show 3–4.

Watchlist: Displays your favorited tokens with prices and 24-hour changes. If you track many tokens, the large watchlist widget can show multiple tokens at once — like a mini market board on your home screen.

Quick actions: Provides quick-access buttons for buying, selling, etc. Tapping buttons on the widget jumps directly to the corresponding function in the app. Great for users who frequently use C2C or quick-buy features.

Market overview: Shows overall market data including BTC dominance and total market cap.

Customization

After adding a widget, long-press to customize:

  • Change displayed tokens: Select the ones you care most about
  • Adjust refresh frequency: Higher frequency means more current data but more battery drain
  • Choose data types (price, change %, volume, etc.)
  • Switch between dark/light theme — can be set independently from the app's theme

Android widgets are customized via the settings icon on the widget. iOS widgets are customized by long-pressing and selecting "Edit Widget."

Suggested Widget Layouts

If you check prices frequently, dedicate one home screen page to Binance widgets. A recommended layout:

  • Top: A large watchlist widget showing your main 5–6 tokens
  • Below: A medium quick-action widget for fast buying and selling
  • Corner: A small BTC price card widget for a quick glance

Things to Note

Battery impact: Widgets refresh data periodically, which slightly increases battery consumption. If battery life is a concern, reduce the refresh frequency. In practice, one Binance widget adds roughly 1–3% extra daily battery usage — minimal impact.

Data delay: Widget prices may lag by a few seconds to tens of seconds. They're not meant for precise price tracking — use them as quick references. For real-time prices, open the app. Typical refresh intervals are 15 seconds to 1 minute.

Network required: Widgets need an internet connection to update. Without connectivity, they'll show the last refreshed price. If a widget isn't updating, check your network connection.

Privacy consideration: Widgets are visible on your home screen, so people nearby may see which tokens you're watching. If privacy matters to you, place widgets on a less visible home screen page, or only add them when needed.
