The Binance app not opening or crashing is a common issue. Don't panic — follow this troubleshooting guide. If you need to reinstall, Download Binance APP for the latest version. New users should Register on Binance first.

Network Issues

This is the most common cause. Binance servers are overseas, so direct connections from mainland China may not work reliably.

Solutions:

  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data — sometimes one network works better for Binance than the other
  • Use a VPN or network accelerator — Hong Kong, Japan, or Singapore nodes usually work best
  • Check if your VPN is on but the node is unstable — an unreliable VPN can actually break your connection
  • Try setting your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 — DNS pollution can sometimes block connectivity
  • If you're on a corporate network, the company firewall may be blocking the relevant domains

Outdated App Version

Older versions may stop working due to API changes. Binance periodically updates its server-side APIs, and very old app versions may not communicate properly.

Solutions:

  • Check for updates — if you can reach the home screen, an update prompt usually appears
  • Uninstall the old version and download the latest one
  • Android users can download the latest APK and install over the old version without uninstalling — data is preserved
  • iOS users need to switch to their foreign Apple ID and update via the App Store

System Incompatibility

Minimum requirements:

  • Android 6.0 or higher
  • iOS 13.0 or higher

If your system is too old, upgrade first. Some heavily customized Android ROMs (like early MIUI versions) may have compatibility issues that updating to the latest system version usually resolves.

Cache Issues

Accumulated app cache can cause erratic behavior. Over time, cached data may become corrupted, preventing the app from launching properly.

Solutions:

  • Android: Settings > App Management > Binance > Clear Cache (clear the cache only — don't clear data, or you'll need to log in again)
  • iOS: Uninstall and reinstall (iOS doesn't allow clearing cache separately). On iOS 15+, you can choose "Offload App" instead of "Delete App" to preserve documents and data

Insufficient Storage

Low phone storage can also cause crashes. The Binance app needs some cache space for market data and charts. Ensure at least 500MB is free.

Space-clearing tips:

  • Delete unused apps
  • Clear caches for large apps like WeChat, TikTok, etc.
  • Back up photos and videos to the cloud, then delete local copies
  • Clean up browser downloads

Server Maintenance

Occasionally, Binance performs system maintenance during which all users lose access. Follow Binance's official social media for maintenance announcements. Maintenance typically occurs during low-traffic hours (UTC early morning) and lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours.

If the app suddenly stops working, try visiting the Binance website in a browser. If the website also fails, it's likely a server maintenance or network issue.

iOS Certificate Issues

If you installed Binance through non-App Store channels, you may see an "Untrusted Enterprise Developer" prompt. Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and trust the corresponding certificate.

Enterprise certificates may be revoked by Apple, causing the app to suddenly stop working. In that case, you'll need to wait for a new installation method or re-download from the App Store using a foreign Apple ID.

System-Level Troubleshooting

If none of the above works, try these system-level steps:

  1. Force-close and reopen: On Android, long-press the recent apps key and swipe away Binance; on iOS, swipe up from the bottom and dismiss it
  2. Restart your phone: Many inexplicable issues are resolved with a simple restart
  3. Check system time: Make sure your phone's time is accurate — incorrect time can cause SSL certificate validation failures
  4. Reset network settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

If nothing works, contact Binance live support and provide your phone model, system version, and the specific error message you're seeing.
